Formula 1 Expands to 10 Sprint Weekends
Formula 1 has officially revealed its 2027 calendar, with a record 10 Sprint events included across a 24-race season.
The championship will visit 22 countries across five continents, beginning in Bahrain from March 12-14 and concluding in Abu Dhabi from December 10-12.
The expansion represents a major increase from the six Sprint weekends held in 2026.

Monaco Gets Its First F1 Sprint
Five circuits will host the Sprint format for the first time: Bahrain, Australia, Japan, Monaco and Abu Dhabi.
Canada, Great Britain, Italy, Brazil and Qatar will also feature Sprint weekends.
Monaco is arguably the biggest surprise, giving fans two competitive qualifying sessions around one of Formula 1's narrowest and most demanding circuits.
F1 says Sprint weekends have delivered 12% higher total viewership than traditional race weekends since the format was introduced in 2021.
Portugal and Türkiye Return
The calendar also brings two familiar circuits back to Formula 1.
Portugal returns at Portimão on June 18-20, while Türkiye is scheduled to return at Istanbul Park from October 1-3, subject to FIA circuit homologation.
Madrid's Madring circuit retains the Spanish Grand Prix, scheduled for September 10-12.
A Bigger Sprint Era Begins
For Winbox Racing, the expansion to 10 Sprint weekends represents one of the biggest changes to Formula 1's 2027 schedule.
Almost half of the 24-race calendar will now feature competitive action on all three days of the race weekend.
